You can also add a mimosa, Bloody Mary, or one of their craft cocktails and mocktails.
The restaurant serves brunch every weekend from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations aren't required, but they're strongly recommended.
Next, it's time to stock up on all the supplies you'll need for your day out. Sealand Adventure Sports is conveniently located at the corner of Station 22 and Middle streets. It sells:
They also rent equipment like umbrellas, beach chairs, paddleboards, and golf carts.
You can even book kiteboarding lessons if you want to give the island's most iconic pastime a try.
Station 22½ is one of the more popular beach access points on Sullivan Island, offering a long stretch of soft sand perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and fun in the sun. The raised boardwalk that takes you from the parking area to the seashore runs past the backyards of many of the neighborhood's most coveted homes, including some of our Sullivan's Island homes for sale.
This spot is known for its large tide pools and well-kept shoreline. It's a great place to bring your kids and go searching for treasures.
Fort Moultrie is one of the most historically significant locations in South Carolina, inspiring both the state flag and the nickname "The Palmetto State." The structure was incomplete when it was attacked by British forces in the early days of the Revolutionary War. Originally named Fort Sullivan, it was renamed in honor of Commander William Moultrie after he defended Charleston Harbor against overwhelming odds.
After this victory, the fort was expanded and its palmetto log defenses rebuilt with materials that would stand the test of time. You can still see these stone fortifications and cannons used during the war at the site today.
The fort is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every day except major holidays. Admission costs $10 per adult but is free for kids 15 and under.
Poe's Tavern is named for famed writer Edgar Allen Poe, a former soldier who was once stationed at Fort Moultrie. They serve all the ice-cold beer, wine, and cocktails you need to end your beach day with a bang, plus a handful of non-alcoholic drinks.
As for food, some of their specialties include:
They have plenty of indoor and patio seating available, and most of their food can be ordered to go if you'd prefer to eat by the water.
