Brendan J. O’Shea, a 33-year veteran of independent school education, elected to apply his leadership and management skills as a Realtor with the Folly Road West Islands office of Carolina One Real Estate. O’Shea joined forces with West Islands Realtor® Greg Lyon to form the Lyon O'Shea Team at Carolina One (lyonosheateam.com). Their enthusiasm, efficiency, client relationships, discipline, knowledge, and experience set them apart.
A native of Baltimore, MD, O’Shea is a graduate of the University of Virginia with both a BS Degree in Commerce and a Master’s Degree in Education. Immediately after completing his education, O’Shea spent four years in the Commercial Banking Industry. In 1988 O’Shea began an illustrious career in education at three prestigious independent schools: Woodberry Forest in Woodberry Forest, VA (1988-2004); Charleston Day School in Charleston, SC (2004-2017); and St. Mary’s School in Raleigh, NC (2017-2021). Brendan moved his family to Charleston in 2004, and he served as Head of School at the downtown Charleston Day School for 13 years. The family continued their love affair with Charleston as they remained here while he commuted to Raleigh for four years. A lifelong interest in real estate compelled Brendan to end his commute and launch a new career with Carolina One, Charleston’s premier sales and marketing real estate company.
Married to Roberta Osborne O’Shea, the couple have two young adult daughters: Janie, a graduate of the USC Honors College in Columbia and Frances, a graduate of Furman University in Greenville. An active member of St. Philip’s Church and a member of several area nonprofit boards, Brendan enjoys reading, exercise, Baltimore Orioles baseball and the Olympics.
